Women’s Coach Development Weekend Set for Nov. 15-18
USA Weightlifting is hosting a Women’s Coaching Development Weekend Nov. 15-18 in Portland, Oregon, hosted by Industrial Strength WLC and led by Anna Martin of KC Weightlifting. Registrants can earn their Level 1 and Level 2 coaching certification courses, and there’s a bundled option for both for $799.
Additionally, there’s two scholarship opportunities available for the weekend. Those specifically taking the Level 1 course who work with youth athletes in underserved communities can apply for the Youth Coaching Scholarship. There’s also three Women in Coaching scholarships available to first-time recipients. Both scholarships cover the tuition cost of the Level 1 certification course as well as one year of USAW membership.

“We’re excited to continue providing opportunities for fellowship and learning among our female coaches,” said Dr. Anna Swisher, USAW Director of Coach Development. “I believe we need more female coaches across all levels of sport, and building community is a big part of coach retention and success. Coach Anna Martin is excited to lead this event, and she brings a wealth of experience as a lifter, gym owner, and teacher as well as a passion for helping others be at their best.”
